ACCESSIBILITY
UP MEN is for every man who wants his edge back — and that has to include men who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text. This page sets out what we are doing about it and how to reach us when we get it wrong.
What we are working towards
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That standard covers how the site reads to screen readers, how it behaves for keyboard-only visitors, and whether text stays legible when it is enlarged or the colours are inverted.
Accessibility is not a one-off project. Every time we add a page or change a template, it goes through the same checks.
What we check
- Every image that carries meaning has descriptive alternative text.
- The whole store can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- Text and background colours are tested for contrast against the AA thresholds.
- Headings follow a real hierarchy, so screen-reader users can skim the page structure.
- Form fields have labels that are read out, and errors are announced rather than shown only in colour.
- Motion is reduced automatically for visitors whose system asks for it.
Where we fall short
Parts of the store rely on third-party services — payment, reviews, chat — whose interfaces we do not control. We test them and raise problems with the vendors, but we cannot guarantee their conformance.
If any part of this site blocks you, that is a defect on our side, and we want to hear about it.
Tell us about a barrier
Describe the page and what went wrong — the browser and any assistive technology you use helps us reproduce it faster. We aim to acknowledge every report within one business day and will tell you honestly how long a fix will take.
If you need information from this site in another format while we work on it, ask and we will send it to you directly.
